portable audio devices growing up

i most fondly remember this thing, i had it for years. reliable as fuck, i’m pretty sure if i found it it would still work.

it’s RCA. it sucked fucking nuts and the laser motor ate its face.

sony to the rescue, loved the walkman/discman line.

i finally found my first mp3 player! turns out it’s also the world’s first commercial one, christ! this thing was whack and you had to transfer files through the serial port. it was super cool at the time (late 90s)

RCA fucked it up again with this shitty MP3 player. i worked at The Source and we had these things returned to us constantly. obscenely faulty.

while the battery needs replacing, as far as i know my Vision:M is still in good working order. a monster of a device, i loved this thing.

right now i have an iPod Touch 2nd gen i’m very happy with.
